Parental Burnout, Parent and Child Gender in Predicting Child Anxiety
Hi, I’m Jessica, a final-year Psychology and Counselling student interested in family dynamics. My research explores how parental burnout, parental gender, and child gender predict anxiety-related emotional disorders in children aged 7–11. I aim to highlight the impact of parental stress on both caregiver and child mental health, emphasising the need for support for parents as a protective factor. Passionate about mental health and early intervention, I hope to pursue a career in adult counselling, focusing on improving support systems for families and reducing the effects of parental burnout on both parents’ and children’s well being.
