Exploring How fathers and children communicate through digital gaming.

I am a undergraduate researcher with an interest in father-children communication, relationships, and the role of digital technology in family life. My projects explores fathers experiences of communicating with their children through digital gaming. using a qualitative Interpretative Phenomenological (ipa) approach to understand the lived experiences of the participants.

This research examines how shared gaming experience can create opportunities for communication, connection, and relationship- building between fathers and children, including within neurodivergent family contexts. the project aim to challenge common perceptions of gaming which highlights shared engagement, quality time and emotional connection.
