Esports vs The Market. A comparative publisher analysis

The study aims to be a foundational piece in understanding the impacts an Esports title can have on a publishers stock price, and how the publishers can derive methods of financial sustainability and increased ROI from this, whilst maintaining a healthy relationship with the Esports ecosystem. The project shows different video game models, have different success rates in relation to abnormal returns, with live-service games (the Games as a Service model) producing much larger abnormal returns than other video game models. Esports titles from other models appear to lack significant impact on the publishers market prices.
