I am a recent graduate mechanical engineering student, with a firm interest in 3D Printing and mechatronics. I chose this project as I knew that coding and electronics were a gap in my skillset, and as such set out to learn at least a basic level of each throughout the project.

My project is a finger position tracking system, using entirely 3D-printed and off-the-shelf components to allow it to be recreated. It uses strain gauges to track the bending of a 3D printed beam which is deformed by the finger’s movement, and uses an ESP-32 to wirelessly transmit this data.
