Recovery and Development of Ear Prints.

This study evaluates the recovery and development of ear prints in forensic investigations, focusing on prints which are affected by jewellery and developed using aluminium powder. These prints were collected under controlled laboratory conditions to assess the impact of jewellery on print quality and feature visibility. Measurements of the ear include ear length, width, and distances between the piercings and anatomical landmarks which were recorded. The study concludes that jewellery may assist individualisation; however ear prints are sufficient as a standalone form of forensic evidence and should be supported with additional information.
