Real-Time Ray Traced Water Caustics
I’m May Broome, a graduate in Computer Games Programming. I made this artefact as a part of my dissertation, Real-Time Ray Traced Water Caustics, to explore physically accurate lighting in unique conditions such as beneath the surface of moving water. The artefact produced a graphics engine with user-controlled parameters to modify the simulation.
This project is a real-time renderer that simulates underwater caustic lighting effects using DirectX 12 and DXR (DirectX Raytracing). Light refracts through animated wave surfaces to produce caustic patterns on submerged geometry.
