Perfecting reward and recognition strategy to aid academic retention
I am Ben an Undergraduate Business Management: Human Resources student and this poster is based on my final year dissertation and investigates how University of Staffordshire Business School can improve academic staff retention through more effective reward and recognition strategies. Against an external environment characterised by declining student numbers, frozen tuition fees, and sector-wide financial pressure, the research finds a significant gap between the recognition academics receive and what motivates them being primarily, student impact rather than financial reward. Using a mixed-methods questionnaire to provide low-to-moderate cost interventions with significant retention potential.
