Navigating the Cycle: The Lived Experiences of Menstruation on Academia
I am a mature student, a wife, and a mother of five. I have a strong passion for supporting others, and more recently, I’ve discovered a deep interest in health psychology—particularly in understanding how health impacts individual wellbeing and daily functioning.
My current project explores the relationship between menstruation and academic success among university students. The findings highlight silent struggles that often go unnoticed: a lack of institutional support, the physical and mental challenges of menstruation such as pain and brain fog, and the ways these factors can disadvantage students in their studies and exam preparation.
