A Simulation-Based Autonomous Robot for Construction Site Safety Surveying
I am a Computer Science student at the University of Staffordshire, supervised by Dr Viraj Dawarka. Current interests are in Robotics, automation systems, and computer forensics. I am actively seeking a graduate role in tech and considering a master’s degree in computer forensics.
This project presents an autonomous construction site survey robot built in Gazebo and Integrated with ROS2. Using LiDAR-based hazard detection and a lawnmower coverage algorithm, the robot navigates flat, rough and sloped terrains, classifying hazards and logging their coordinates to a live Matplotlib map.
