My work explores the experience of navigating intersecting identities as a Black queer woman, where simply existing can feel political. Drawing from Black feminist thought, intersectionality, and queer theory, I reclaim control over how I’m perceived, challenging imposed narratives. I work conceptually with craft-based mediums historically dismissed as “women’s work” to explore femininity and identity. While rooted in self-exploration and self representation, my practice aims to spark dialogue, challenge norms, and amplify marginalized voices, using art as resistance, reclamation, and a tool for both personal and collective empowerment.
