I am Sophie Dallaway and I am in my third year of an MSCi at Staffordshire University. My project involved leaving fingerprints outside on four different materials, for varying lengths of time and then visualising them using aluminium powder, black powder or iron oxide. These were then compared to prints that had been left inside for the same amount of time to investigate the effect weathering had. The different visualisation methods were also compared to each other, determining the preferred method under these conditions.
