Projects

In my practice I create sculptures centred around the human form and its relationship with pattern. Constructed through hand building and coiling, the first stage of my work is all about shape and expression. Once fired I take inspiration from textiles, historical objects and nature to decorate my work with vibrant designs. My interest in this theme began in my first year where I made masks and over the past year I have been working on a project I have nicknamed ‘Talking Heads’. From this I created a series of ceramic head sculptures which explored emotion through expression and colour.
