I am a Computing student at the University of Staffordshire. My project is a real-time, map-based event discovery platform that combines geospatial search with machine learning to surface personally relevant events to users exploring a city. The system generates vector embeddings of event content and matches them against user preference profiles, producing a relevance score that dynamically controls the visual weight of map markers, guiding attention without hiding data. The platform is built on NestJS, PostgreSQL with PostGIS and pgvector, React, and MapLibre GL.
