I’m Jessica Smith and my goal was to create a project with an important real-world purpose. This led me to develop a real-time sign language translation system that recognises and classifies the American Sign Language alphabet when gestured using a live webcam feed. The aim was to bridge the communication gap, as well as support accessibility and promote inclusive communication through technology. Please view images for the full-sized poster.
