As a policing student at Staffordshire University over the last three years, I am someone who has a keen interest in policing terrorism, and the use of force tools officers have available. I also have an interest in the purpose and importance of the IOPC. By equipping officers with Tasers, we strive to provide them with a non-lethal option to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations. My project researches the public perception of issuing all police officers in England and Wales with Tasers and the associated factors such as gender and race.
