Through lived experiences of an eating disorder (ED) diagnosis during adolescence and how online ED promotion had on severity and duration, my passion for understanding adolescent experiences inspired my dissertation purpose.
Within UK adolescent mental health services, ED treatment provision is often reserved until the disorder endangers the physical and emotional health of the individual. Eating disorder promotion is a key driver of increasing ED cases among adolescents, ergo of specific research importance.
