Language of Flowers - The Exploration of Floriography

For my final major project, I explored the theme of the language of flowers which was a practice largely used during the Victorian-era. Focusing on the practice of using flowers to convey specific messages and emotions. I was fascinated by the blend of symbolism, beauty, and nonverbal communication. This interest led me to research how non-verbal storytelling could be reimagined within modern fashion design. My project focused on translating floral meanings into visual elements such as textiles, colour palettes, silhouettes, and textures. Through this, I aimed to reinterpret and modernise these messages, aligning with a considered consumer and market level.
