Forensic Significance of Scarification in Human Identification

I am a final-year BSc Forensic Investigation student at the University of Staffordshire and currently work as a Digital Forensic Assistant within the university. I am also a committee member of the Forensics and Crime Science Society. My interests include human identification, digital forensics, and cultural sensitivity in forensic practice. My project investigates the forensic significance of cultural scarification as a secondary identifier using a mixed-methods approach. It explores awareness, documentation, and interpretation within European forensic practice, highlighting gaps in training and guidance and emphasising the need for improved cultural competency in forensic identification processes.
