Developing an HPLC Method for the Identification & Quantification of MDPHP

I am a BSc (Hons) Forensic Science student at the University of Staffordshire with a strong interest in forensic and analytical chemistry. My project focused on developing and validating a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)-UV/Vis method for the identification and quantification of MDPHP (“monkey dust”) in seized drug samples. The research explored chromatographic optimisation, method validation, and forensic applicability, aiming to provide a more accessible and cost-effective alternative to mass spectrometry for routine forensic drug analysis.
