Hi! I’m Abbie Millward.

I’m a traditional illustrator based in Birmingham, specialising in children’s illustrations- both picture books and educational. I love all things nature and history, and have a huge passion for colour. I work in a variety of mediums but mainly use mixed media, combining gouache, collage and coloured pencils.

A Knight’s Trail is a project about educating children around castles. I chose Warwick Castle to curate a trail, where children would explore the castle to find historical figures located around the grounds. They will find take-home items that will further influence learning and exploration of historical events.

Type of employment sought
I do currently have a part-time retail job, but I would like to have a job within the illustration sector as either a freelance illustrator or an in-house illustrator.

Areas available to work
Preferably in the West Midlands, but I am willing to commute around the UK or work hybrid.
