Comparing ML models
As a mechanical engineering student, I have always been fascinated by new technologies, which drove me to study engineering. I tried many things outside my comfort zone throughout my degree, including software development. I discovered a deep interest in it, which led me to an interdisciplinary project to optimise 3D printing using Machine Learning. I collected data on how various parameters affect print quality by designing a custom “Benchy” model and using 3D scanning. Despite challenges, my work demonstrated the potential of machine learning in 3D printing optimisation and laid the groundwork for further research.
